      FAQ

These are the answers to questions that I am, in fact, frequently asked.

I'm looking for a pattern you don't have on your site. Can you tell me where to find it?
Will you make something for me? I'll pay you!
I don't have a printer/can't afford ink. If I send you postage will you print off a pattern or two and mail it to me?
I'm left-handed too! Do you have any tips for me?
I'm having problems crocheting or knitting, or understanding the directions in a pattern I'm working on. Can you help me figure it out?
But my problem is with one of your patterns! Can't you help me?
I can't get one of your (free) patterns to download! It says there's something wrong/it's password protected/there's an error!
Can I distribute copies of one of your patterns to my crochet, knitting, or charity group, or use it in classes?
Can I sell things I make from your patterns?
Can I use the images from this site or your blog on my website?

I'm looking for a pattern you don't have on your site. Can you tell me where to find it?

I recommend searching on Crochet Pattern Central, Knitting Pattern Central, and Ravelry. If you can't find it there, I doubt it exists.

Will you make something for me? I'll pay you!

I'm flattered that you think so highly of my work, but I'm afraid I do not take custom orders.

I don't have a printer/can't afford ink. If I send you postage will you print off a pattern or two and mail it to me?

I'm sorry, I will not print off and mail out patterns. If you can't print at home, I suggest checking out your local library; often you can print several pages at a time free of charge there. Otherwise, it may not be much fun to work a pattern off of the computer screen, but it doesn't cost you anything, either!

I'm left-handed too! Do you have any tips for me?

Yes, I do! Go check out Technical Tips for Lefties to read my thoughts.

I'm having problems crocheting or knitting, or understanding the directions in a pattern I'm working on. Can you help me figure it out?

I recommend the videos at Nexstitch for crocheters and Knitting Help for knitters. Unfortunately I cannot help everyone, and often it is difficult to explain in writing.

But my problem is with one of your patterns! Can't you help me?

Yes! Please contact me if you're having trouble with one of my patterns. I always try to make sure that my directions are clear and error-free, and feedback helps me to do that. However, some of my patterns were written more than five years ago, and I may not remember the specific section of the pattern you have a question about.

I can't get one of your (free) patterns to download! It says there's something wrong/it's password protected/there's an error!

First of all, none of my files are password protected. Secondly, in most cases the problem with the download will be on your end. You must have a fairly recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (available for free at www.adobe.com) to download the pdfs. Also, some of the patterns are fairly large files and may take longer than expected to download, especially on slower connections. Until the download is complete, files may appear as blank pages. If you still believe that there is an error with one of my downloads, please contact me and I will check the file. However, if I do not see an error in the file or path, it will be very difficult for me to diagnose the problem with your download.

Can I distribute copies of one of your patterns to my crochet, knitting, or charity group, or use it in classes?

Patterns I have provided for free may be shared in groups or classes as long as you credit me as the designer and provide the link to this website. Patterns you have purchased may not be copied and distributed.

Can I sell things I make from your patterns?

Yes, yes you can. I ask that you do me the courtesy of including "(Pattern Name) by Melissa Mall, www.innerchildcrochet.com" with the items that you sell.

Can I use the images from this site or your blog on my website?

My images may be used for discussion, critique, or promotion of Inner Child Crochet or my blog provided that a visible written notice of copyright appears ("Image Copyright Melissa Mall") and you clearly link back to the page on which the photo was originally published. Thanks for discussing me and my work!
